What The Frag (WTF) is a veteran-owned coral farm dedicated to offering healthy, aquacultured coral with attitude. We grow what we sell, and every frag is hand-selected, healed, and ready to thrive in your reef. We're here to make reefing fun, accessible, and reliable—whether you're a beginner or a seasoned reefer.
-
Because reefing should be fun! We wanted a name that reflected our sense of humor, our passion for bold coral, and our commitment to shaking up the reef scene. Plus, it’s hard to forget—and even harder not to smile when you say it.
-
Like a frag is going into battle. Each coral is double-bagged, heat or cold-packed as needed, and secured in an insulated box to keep it safe during transit. We’ve shipped thousands and we don’t cut corners.
-
Yes—because fragging awesome coral means standing behind it. If your coral arrives dead, just send us a clear photo within 2 hours of delivery and we’ll replace or credit it. Full DOA policy is on our site.
-
We ship coral year-round using heat or cold packs as needed—but we're not reckless about it. If extreme weather (heatwaves, deep freezes, storms) is hitting your area, we may hold the shipment and contact you first. Your coral’s safety comes first, always.
-
Yes, you can! Just let us know during checkout or send us an email with your preferred arrival date. We ship Monday through Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. If you’re in a restricted or high-risk delivery zone (some parts of Florida, New York, etc.), there may be additional shipping charges. Want a frag to land on your birthday? We’ve got you.
-
We grow all of our coral under EcoTech Radion XR30 Pros, tuned for real reef tank conditions—not studio lights or heavy saturation filters. What you see is close to what you’ll get—and in most tanks, it looks even better once settled. These corals are grown for long-term success, not just flashy photos.
-
We do—for customers in the Sacramento area, we offer local pickup by appointment only. We even have a private showroom where you can see select corals in person. Choose “local pickup” at checkout and we’ll reach out to set up a time.
-
We do everything we can—dip, inspect, and monitor our corals closely—but nothing beats your own prevention. We strongly recommend dipping all new corals and manually inspecting or quarantining when needed. It’s the safest way to protect your tank from unwanted hitchhikers.
