Hunting in the Outback

There are so many places that hunters wanted to carry on their hobby of hunting. Popular sites include the untamed wilderness of Africa, and the outback adventures of Australia or New Zealand.

Hunting particularly in New Zealand is a famous tourist activity mainly because the country greatly supports leisure hunting. This is one way to promote the unspoiled beauty that New Zealand offers, rich with flora and fauna the tourists will surely enjoy. With this, more and more tourists come to New Zealand for guided tours or as individual hunters.

Before people settled in New Zealand, there was only bat species existing, but during European settlement, they introduced and propagated animals mostly for hunting purposes that is why exotic breeds of animals continue to exist here.
The wide selections of animals that are being pursued in New Zealand include the following:
Chamois is a goat antelope breed native to Europe. Hunting of this breed is unrestricted in New Zealand to limit the animals impact on the countrys native alpines flora.

Certain species of deer which include the Fallow deer, Red deer, Rusa deer, Sambar deer, Sika and Whitetail deer are favorites of the hunters being a common attraction in farmlands of North and South New Zealand.

The Wapiti are large animals with huge antlers reaching to 55 inches in historic herds. However, the Department of Conservation is restricting the hunting of this diminishing breed. Instead, they mandated a culling of the red deer to stop interbreeding with the pure Wapiti.

Pigs are plenty in New Zealand. They are being hunted down because they are pests to native plants.

The Himalayan Tahr can only be found in the mountains of the Himalayas and New Zealand, thus their number is already decreasing. New Zealand is proposing policies to restrict further hunting of this breed.

New Zealand government established the Game Animal Council to manage game animals for hunting. The council further promotes the hunters safety and improves hunting opportunities. This is how New Zealand welcomes hunting as a form of leisure and sport. New Zealand is definitely the place to visit for that perfect unspoiled hunting experience.
